A standard consultation at Te Ngae Medical Centre is 15 minutes

For your own clinical safety and in consideration of other waiting patients only 1 or 2 medical issues can be addressed in a standard consultation. (e.g. repeat prescriptions and one other problem). Unfortunately, increasingly, there is an expectation that these 15 minute consultations can be used to discuss up to five or more concerns. There is simply no way that this expectation can be accomodated in this timeframe.

If you have multiple issues then please make a double appointment. Appointments for minor surgery (pre approved by your GP), driving licence assessments and travel consults require additional time. Please let reception know when you book your appointment so they can make the appropriate booking.

Please do not be offended if we cannot discuss all of your issues in 15 minutes and we ask you to make another appointment. Our frontline team members are working very hard to accomodate everyone’s requirements to provide you with high quality healthcare. We appreciate your understanding.
